Meeting on 18th May.

Herbie Girardet will give a talk on 'The Forest as Teacher': He writes: In Tintern we live in an area unusually rich in forest cover, and we see the circle of life unfolding year after year. But civilisation is also the story of deforestation, and its linear economic arrangements are playing havoc with forests as never before. A new understanding of their interactive biodiversity could help to improve the relationship between people and planet. Herbie's illustrated talk draws on 45 years of interaction with local forests, and with making documentaries in the rainforests of S. America.
